Stepping Stone EP Launch

“The confidence of performing her own work and the maturity of Melissa’s voice is evident in all these songs. The musicians did a great job of reproducing an almost studio-class sound in the live performance at the BJC and the crowd loved it. Although Ross Comerford – keyboards, Jeremy O’Connor – bass, Scott Nosworthy – drums and Paul Murray – guitar are all seasoned professionals, they all agreed that it was one of the best recording sessions they had ever been involved in, and all made their own particular contributions to the success of the tracks. Nathan Seiler as producer and Jake Walsh the sound engineer, managed to achieve a highly commercial sound cleverly getting a huge horn sound from Darren Skaar on trumpet and Euan Gray on sax , and all the guys contributed to vocal backings.

Every track demonstrated Melissa’s musical credentials from the upbeat ‘Old Man’, the groovy ‘Give it To Me’, and the soulful ‘Still Night’ to ‘Hold On’ and the torchy ‘Wasted’ . Her collaboration with husband Tnee and brother Dario resulted in the Beatlesque ‘Lester Finchberry’ a very appealing melody set to a brilliant lyric. A highly entertaining screen and slide show of the recording sessions (bloopers and all) also featured after the show.”
