Jazz at the Hangar
This month we are in the mood for a great party and we have a terrific line up to make that happen!
First up will be a feature performance by the highly respected singer and educator Irene Bartlett. Irene is Head of Jazz/Contemporary Vocal Studies at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. This course has been a nurturing ground for such talented artists as Kristin Berardi and Megan Washington. Blessed with a wonderful voice and a huge repertoire of songs that she has developed with long time accompanist Viv Middleton, we are proud to present her at the Hangar.
Melissa Western is a velvet voiced sassy vocalist who shone during her first Hangar appearance. Having recently welcomed her little baby Ella into the world, and also with a new cd Stepping Stone to promote, she is a very welcome return guest.
Karen has a warm and soulful sound and a great sense of swing. She will record this gig to see if she can add a track or two to the live cd currently being mixed. The band will be led by the fabulous Peter Walters and are a fine outfit....Dave Spicer on keys, Darren McPherson on saxes, Dave Maguire on guitar and Steve Francis on drums. Nice!
Cheese platters can be booked. Doors open at 7pm with music on at 7.45pm. Full bar service and a great ambience can be found here at the Hangar if you haven't been before.
